Azerbaijan to increase funding for education abroad

Funds allocated for education of Azerbaijani students abroad under presidential program will be increased next year, Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov said at a news conference.

“Next year funds allocated for students studying abroad under presidential program will be increased from 7 to 10 million manat,” the minister said.

A total of 500 Azerbaijani students study abroad under presidential scholarship program; 217 of them receive bachelor’s degree.

As many as 1,000 students study abroad under the 2007-2015 state program.

Nearly 10,000 Azerbaijani students receive education abroad currently.
