Azerbaijan's television and radio channels have serious Azerbaijani language problems: National TV and Radio Council

"Local television and and radio channels have serious problems with protection of Azerbaijani language”, said the chairman of the National TV and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli.

He said fluency, correctness and pronunciation rules are violated in some cases and there are problems with dialects as well.

“We are looking forward to organize special training courses for presenters. They will learn the rules of Azerbaijani language. We consider that it will help to address the language problems”.

Maharramli said Azerbaijani language dominates in the Azerbaijani TV now.

“We achieved our goal. But sometimes other languages, particularly Russian and Turkish, are used in the education and socio-political programs. We are solving these problems step-by-step," he said.
