Azerbaijan releases results of next avian flu monitoring

State Veterinary Service under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture has announced results of the next avian flu monitoring in the country.
Spokesman for the Service Yolchu Khanvaliyev said pathological samples of 18 wild birds and blood samples of 1,772 poultry taken from individual farms have been examined in the Republic Veterinary Laboratory.

Avian flu virus was revealed in none of the samples.

The monitoring was conducted in the national park and preserves in Absheron peninsula, Davachi, Salyan, Agjabadi and Lankaran regions and seaside zones settled by the migrating birds.

The State Veterinary Service plans to start the next avian flu monitoring on Dec. 21 and.

The service has banned hunting, selling and using migrating birds.
