Azerbaijani official monitos jails in Latvia

Department chief of Azerbaijani parliament’s administration Latif Huseynov conducted monitoring in Latvia together with the delegation of the Council of Europe Anti-Torture Committee.

The parliament said aim of the visit is to check fulfillment of the committee’s recommendations given to the Latvian government concerning treatment towards life-term prisoners and their detention conditions.

The members of the delegation visited jails and met with prisoners.

Report to be made about outcome of the visit will be presented to the Latvian government.
