Baku hosts 2nd Int'l Scientific Conference

The 2nd international scientific conference dedicated to the creative activity of Azerbaijani eminent poet Imadaddin Nasimi have started in Baku.

The event was organized by Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism and National Academy of Sciences (NAS).

Director of NAS Institute of Literature after Nizami, academician Bakir Nabiyev welcomed the participants and said the sepulcher of Nasimi will be reconstructed in Aleppo city.

The 1st scientific conference dedicated to the creative activity of Nasimi took place in Aleppo, in 2008, academician said.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev said the events to revere memory of Nasimi and reconstruction of his grave are carried out in accordance with the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev.

The foundation for rapid development of relations between Azerbaijan and Syria was laid by nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and the late Syrian President Hafez al-Asad.

During the visit of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in July 2009 to Azerbaijan, the numerous bilateral documents were signed, Minister said.

Prominent scientists will deliver reports at the conference, which is to last till December 16.
