Azerbaijan's emergency situations minister warns citizens

15 December 2009 [10:11] - TODAY.AZ
Special measures are being taken in Azerbaijan to eliminate consequences of use of heating devices in winter.
Azerbaijan's Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov said every stove or heating device is certified by the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents, and after that is put on sale.

“Unfortunately, users remove part of the stove that absorbs carbon monoxide which leads to grave consequences. We cannot say which heating device is high-quality. If a brand is brought to the country, it means that it is qualified," he said.

"First and foremost, people should know instructions for use of the devices very well. One must not use devices without studying user instructions. Devices filtering toxic gas and carbon monoxide detectors are used in a number of countries. These devices will be brought to Azerbaijan soon,” he said.
