Azerbaijan takes measures to prevent smuggle of self-flagellation chains

He said State Customs Committee and other relevant organizations were taking special measures to prevent smuggle of self-flagellation chains into the country.

Orujov said he called on leaders of religious communities of the country to be sensitive in such issues.

“Day of Ashura is a tragedy for whole Muslim world. But some radical forces are trying to use this day for their goals. Some people, beating themselves with chains, were identified last year in the different parts of the country and during the investigation it became clear that they had different goals. So, I call on every Muslim to be more sensitive in such issues”.
