Agayev said 329 citizens of Pakistan, 80 citizens of China, 20 of Afghanistan, 26 of Iran, 21 of Turkmenistan, 43 of Turkey, 20 of Georgia, 20 of Bangladesh had been deported from Azerbaijan.
“A total of 318 of them were detained by the Interior Ministry, 135 by the State Migration Service and 13 by the National Security Ministry,” he said.
In most cases foreigners violated visa and stay period and lived not in the registered place, had no individual permission, he added.
The ministry’s official said the number of deported foreigners has reduced compared to previous years.
As many as 970 people were deported from Azerbaijan in 2008, he added.
Agayev also gave information about the persons deported from foreign countries.
He said there were deportations mainly from Sweden, Norway, the U.S., the Netherlands and Germany.
“There are few of them. Azerbaijanis were mainly deported, as they did not obey migration laws of these countries, did not get necessary permission, visa and had problems concerning registration,” he said.
