All-Republican Decorative Art Festival was opened at the Museum Center of Baku on Dec. 24.

In his opening speech, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfas Garayev said the exhibition aimed to demonstrate contemporary development of the Azerbaijani decorative art which based on ancient historic roots and rich traditions, artistic creative processes in the republic, to inform public community of successes of Azerbaijani artists, to discover young talent and art works, to popularize and protect decorative art examples which keep national-spiritual values and to revive cultural atmosphere in the regions.
Decorative art works, including carpets, tapestries, weaved graphics, gravures, potteries, fancy works, jewelries, leather art works and others are exhibited at the festival.
This is final exhibition of the festival. The organizing committee demonstrates art works selected at the exhibitions held by the regional centers.
Secretary of the Azerbaijan Union of Artists Agali Ibrahimov said they would issue well-designed catalogue of the works demonstrated at the final exhibition.
Azerbaijan’s national musical instruments, national clothes and handicrafts describing historic places of the country are also exhibited at the festival which will last until Dec. 30.
