Foreigners kidnapping a Chinese woman in Azerbaijan were detained.
Chinese citizen living in Lokbatan settlement of Baku's Garadag region Tsanq Yogin appealed to the Interior Ministry's Central Department for Organized Crime on Jan. 6.
He complained that his wife Tsanq Venil was kidnapped with her car Opel Astra by strangers in 8-kilometer settlement of the capital on 02:00 p.m.
Kidnappers demanded ransom of $300,000 for her release, the Interior Ministry's press office said.
The immediate actions taken by a team consisting of the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of National Security revealed that on Jan. 5 Venil with her husband were in their compatriot Li Vin's house situated in the 8-kilometer settlement. Venil went outside at 02:00 p.m. and did not return.
Kidnappers phoned Venil's husband in the morning and said that his wife was kidnapped by citizens of China. They demanded ransom to release her.
They threatened to kill Venil if he applies to the police and does not pay money.
They also said that they cut off Venil's finger and left it in the yard of his house. Venil's finger was found in the yard.
Criminals suspected in this case Li Jen Vay, Zengo Van, Vanq Liyonq and Vanq Konqyonq were detained the same day.
Masks, knives, axe, metallic batons used while committing crimes and mobile phones were revealed in their house
Venil's eyes were plastered with sticky tape.
The Department for Organized Crime has filed a criminal case on the article 144.1 (kidnapping) of the criminal case.
