Rules for higher school admission to be made public in Azerbaijan this month

09 January 2010 [13:56] - TODAY.AZ
“No serious changes are expected in the rules for admission to higher schools,” chairperson of the State Student Admission Commission (SSAC) Maleyka Abbaszade told reporters.
According to her, after the adoption of the law on education, Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers is to adopt special normative documents on the implementation of the law.

“We are waiting for the adoption of these documents. After that SSAC will announce the admission rules,” she said.

Abbaszade says there are no special changes in the admission rules that may influence entrants.

“In accordance with our policy, we announce the changes expected in the admission rules two years in advance. Then we apply this change step-by-step. Two years ago we announced that the Russian language will be applied as a foreign language. At first we applied it in the 1st specialty group. From this year the Russian language will be applied as a foreign language in the 2nd and 3rd specialty groups," she explained.
