Azerbaijan's Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov received the delegation led by director of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation Matthias Weckerling on Jan. 13, the ministry said.

Minister Mammadov spoke about the relations between Azerbaijan and Germany.
Speaking about the dynamic development of the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, the minister mentioned his efficient visit to Germany in June and underlined that the joint statement signed on cooperation between the justice ministries of the two countries in Berlin opened broad opportunities for the deepening of the relations.
Matthias Weckerling noted that Germany attaches great importance to the development of the relations with Azerbaijan and said the Foundation for International Legal Cooperation established in 1992 and functioning in 30 countries aimed to support the partners in the judicial reforms.
Weckerling said he was interested in the large-scale activities carried out to upgrade judicial system in Azerbaijan and expressed readiness for the development of the cooperation in this field.
He also gave concrete proposals.
Matthias Weckerling plans to hold meetings in the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and Azerbaijani Lawyers’ Confederation.
