Azerbaijani president attends celebrative event to mark 80th anniversary of prominent oilman

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attended a celebrative event to mark the 80th anniversary of prominent oilman, SOCAR`s first vice-president for geology, geophysics and field development, academician Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh on Jan. 14.

The President delivered a speech at the event. He congratulated Yusifzadeh on his anniversary.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the academician`s contributions to developing oil industry in Azerbaijan, in particular oil and gas exploration and field development in the Caspian Sea.

The President presented Yusifzadeh with the Order of Glory.

The Academician thanked the Head of State for the attention.

Yusifzadeh shared his memories of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

He vowed he would “continue working for the prosperity of Azerbaijan under President Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor to the nationwide leader”.

The event featured a film devoted to Yusifzadeh, and a concert.
