Azerbaijan has already received second delivery of the A/H1N1 (swine flu) vaccines sent by the World Health Organization (WHO), specialist for infectious diseases of the WHO office in Azerbaijan Vusala Allahverdiyeva said.
After that, it will be possible to say the exact amount of the vaccines, she said.
Allahverdiyeva said it was planned to send 172,000 doses of vaccines to Azerbaijan.
The first part of the vaccines – 90,000 doses were brought to the country on Jan. 8.
The WHO representative said the vaccination had already begun in Azerbaijan.
This stage will last for 3-4 weeks.
It is planned to send 882,000 doses of vaccines to Azerbaijan in five stages. Ten percent of the country’s population will be vaccinated.
The vaccines sent to Azerbaijan were produced by GlaxoSmithKline company of Belgium in Canada.
