Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General: No new information about assasination of Azerbaijani Air Forces commander

There is no new information about investigation into the assassination of Azerbaijan's former deputy defense minister, a former commander of the Air Force and Air Defense of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Rail Rzayev yet, Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov told media today.

According to Garalov, after the incident Rail Rzayev's assistant entered the office of General and illegally brought out some things.

Later he was arrested.

Rzaev's Assistant Aydin Rafiyev and his son were arrested on April 16, 2009.

The investigation team, set up by the Investigation Department for Heinous Crimes of the Republican Prosecution, found general Rzayev's jacket and state number of his official car in their apartment situated in the Yasamal district and their car "Mitsubishi-Pajero".

Rafiyev was charged under Article 177 (theft) and 179 (misappropriation and embezzlement) of the Criminal Code.

Term of Rafiyev's arrest was extended for another three months on Jan. 12.
