Armed attack on bus with Azerbaijani pilgrims on board in Iraq leaves dead and injured

A bus with Azerbaijani pilgrims on board was shot by unknown men in Iraq.

The incident occurred near Karbala on Jan. 28. A group of unknown men, coming out of the car, shot a caravan of buses with pilgrims.

The shooting killed 14-year-old girl from Mashtaga village on Baku suburbs leaving two residents of the same village injured.

The girl was reportedly buried in Najaf.

Measures are being taken to return the rest of the Azerbaijani pilgrims to home.

Some 27 more pilgrims from other countries were also killed as result of the shooting.
