Young people account 31% of population in Azerbaijan

As of January 1, young people account for 2.8 million or 31 percent of Azerbaijani population with males making up 49 percent and females 51 percent, said the State Statistical Committee.

According to statistics, over the past 5 years babies born to young families rose by 9 percent constituting 82.3 percent of total births.

The majority of marriages (75.1 percent) were between young people which increased by 12 percent for past five years.

Divorce rate of young people in Azerbaijan is 22.6 percent.
