“Our state has cancelled visa requirements for Azerbaijani citizens to make their travel to Iran easier. Moreover, heath certificate has also been waved”, Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mahammad Bagir Bahrami told journalists at the event dedicated to the National Day of Iran.
He noted that it is an internal affair of an official Baku whether to cancel visa requirements for Iranian citizens or not.
However, the ambassador noted that he would like the cancellation of visa requirements and added that it would play an important role in further deepening of ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Mahammad Bagir Bahrami reiterated that Iran’s activities on nuclear energy do not seek a military purpose.
“You must know that our religion forbids making weapons of mass destruction, but we can usefully use peacekeeping nuclear energy in the development of economy, agriculture and in other spheres. It is a right of all nations. We don’t care about what is the attitude of other countries to this issue”.
The diplomat noted that Iran is ready to share its scientific achievements with neighboring countries, especially with Azerbaijan.
“Islamic countries have to develop and modernize. But outside forces impede it. Iran cannot reconcile with injustice. We carried out Iranian revolution just for this reason."
