Azerbaijani officials participate in conference on future of European Court of Human Rights

Azerbaijan's Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov, Chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev and other top-ranking officials attended a conference on the Future of the European Court of Human Rights in Interlaken, Switzerland.

The event was organized during the Swiss Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The purpose of the conference was to reaffirm States` commitment to the protection of human rights in Europe and to draw up a roadmap for the future development of the Court.

Speaking to a conference, Minister Mammadov briefed about implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights in Azerbaijan and measures to improve the court system in the country.

A joint declaration was adopted at the close of the Conference.
