Nobel Family and Baku Oil exhibition opens in Brussels

The headquarter of the European Commission in Brussels hosts an exhibition devoted to the history of the participation of a famous Swedish industrialist family Nobel in the development and production of oil in Baku in the XIX-XX centuries, the Azerbaijani embassy in Belgium reported.

The exhibition was prepared and conducted with the organizational support of Azerbaijan Mission to the European Union, the Azerbaijan State Oil Company, the Norwegian company Statoil, the Azerbaijan Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Baku Nobel Heritage Fund.

The strategic importance of Azerbaijan in Europe's energy security and regional cooperation was noted at the opening of the exhibition. Attention was drawn to the parallels between the period of the Nobel family in Azerbaijan and the current time when the world's largest energy corporations function in Azerbaijan.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Nobel family, representatives of SOCAR, as well as officials of the European Union.

The exhibition, which includes photographs, reproductions, and audio-visual presentations, will work during a month.
