Azerbaijani ombudsman reelected

Suleymanova was elected with 106 pros and seven cons today at a meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

Earlier President Ilham Aliyev sent to parliament a list of three candidates in accordance with Article 109.14 of the Constitution.

The candidates included the current ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova, Head of the Department for Human Rights and Public Relations under the Justice Ministry Faig Gurbanov and the National Program Officer Human Rights Project of UN in Azerbaijan Teymur Malikaslanov.
