Azerbaijani embassy marks Novruz Holiday in Brussels

Delivering the opening speech, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Belgium and Head of Mission to the EU Emin Eyyubov told about the important role of the Nowruz celebration in culture and history of the Azerbaijani nation.

In his remarks, Azerbaijan’s Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov noted that the UN has announced March 21 International Day of Novruz upon Azerbaijani government’s initiative.

The film entitled “Azerbaijan through Eyes of Foreigners” directed by Azerbaijani journalist Azer Garibov was displayed at the event.

The event also features performance of national songs by Azerbaijani singer Tunzale Agayeva.

The guests could also get familiar with Azerbaijan’s national cuisine and Novuz refreshments.

The reception was attended by Azerbaijani MP Fuad Muradov, Azerbaijani ambassadors to NATO, Council of Europe, Austria, Germany, France, members of the Brussels Forum of Azerbaijani Students 2010 and Diaspora representatives.
