Azerbaijani National Security's employees mark professional holiday

About 91 years have passed since the establishment of the Azerbaijani National Security Ministry, which has a special place and role in ensuring national interests and security of the country.

Today the ministry's personnel headed by National Security Minister, Lieutenant-General Eldar Mahmudov visited the Alley of Honor, where they rise in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and laid a wreath at his tomb and at grave of distinguished ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The ministry's employees also paid tribute to the martyrs in the Martyr's Avenue.

The Azerbaijani National Security Ministry is a central executive authority which carries out the competencies referred to it by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of intelligence, counter-intelligence, protection of state secret, revealing, preventing, precluding and detection of crimes. The Ministry is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the decrees of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the decisions and decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the international treaties which the Republic of Azerbaijan the part, its statute and other normative-legal acts of the National Security Ministry.
