Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations: Four people injured in Shamakhi explosion

Four people were injured during the blast in a residential building situated in the Azerbaijani town of Shamakhi.
An explosion occurred in the two-storey eight-roomed house, the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

Owner of the house and three other men were injured and taken to hospital.

There was no fire during the explosion. The blast shattered windows and doors.

Cracks appeared in the ceiling and interior walls in a room on the first floor, as well as indoor space used as a shop.

Counters were destroyed. Doors and windows were damaged.

According to the preliminary version, the cause of the explosion was gas leak. In connection with the incident, relevant authorities conduct investigation.

Shamakhi is located 120 kilometers from Baku.
