Azerbaijani ombudswoman meets ICRC’s official in Geneva

As part of her working visit to Geneva, Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova has met Pascale Meige Wagner, ICRC`s head of operations for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Suleymanova briefed Ms. Wagner on Armenia`s aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, which led to occupation of one fifth of the country`s territories.

According to her, innocent people were subjected to massacre, and thousands of civilians were taken hostage and captive during the conflict with the fate of majority of them still remaining unknown.

Wagner, in turn, said workers of ICRC`s regional offices came to see the captives and hostages to make sure they are alright.
