An international conference on modern Arabic language, literature and culture has opened in Azerbaijani capital.
The event is co-organized by the Khazar University and Egyptian Culture Center in Baku.
Opening the conference, pro-rector of the University, professor Mahammad Nuriyev spoke of specifications of Arabic language and literature, in particular Egyptian culture.
Other speakers included Egyptian ambassador in Baku Sabir Abdulgadir Mansur, head of the Egyptian Culture Center Adel Darvish and vice president of the Egyptian Fayoum University Mohamed Ibrahim Barakat as well as rector of the Asian University in Baku Jalil Nagiyev, pro-rector of Gafgaz University Mammadali Babashov and academician Vasim Mammadaliyev.
They highlighted the international importance of Arabic language as well as cultural relations between the Arabic world and Azerbaijan. The conference also featured a plenary meeting of orientalists.
