Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov said this week that the security of educational institutions must be reviewed.
"The management of educational institutions must consider security issues from a contemporary point of view and strengthen security," Mardanov said at a meeting today.
Masked men attacked Secondary School No. 12 in Baku's Nizami district on March 31. They stole a fax machine, projector and laptop, and beat security guard Famil Tagiyev, Baku Educational Office spokesperson Zamina Aligizi said.
Fortunately, the criminals were not able to break into a computer room on the first floor, she added.
Tagiyev was able to untie his hands and call principal Ali Aliyev after the criminals left. A mask and a lighter were found at the scene of the crime.
Police are investigating the attack.
He said the ministry received a letter from Deputy General Prosecutor Rustam Usubov. The official advised to strengthen the security of the educational institutions.
