Baku Metro hopes to put into operation 5 new stations a year

The Baku Metro is hopeful that tunnel drilling equipment of German production will greatly facilitate construction of news stations.

Head of the Baku Metro Tagi Ahmadov said a German-made machine will be acquired for tunnel drilling.

“A joint stock company on subway construction has signed an agreement on purchase of such a facility. Machine’s design capacity is 25 m a day. After we are delivered this equipment, tunnel laying work will be conducted easier. And that will enable to commission up to 5 new metro stations a year,” Ahmadov noted.
