Azerbaijani official: Russia-Azerbaijan railway communication to be restored within a day

Movement of the trains in the Azerbaijan-Russia and opposite direction will be restored within a day, Azerbaijan Railways Spokesman Nadir Azmammadov said.

Presently, the movement of trains in both directions is suspended due to undermining of the railway lines in the Inchkhe station in the Karabudakh region of the Dagestan Republic on Apr.4.

The reconstruction work was launched about an hour ago following the security services' permission. The movement of trains will be restored within a day.

He said the movement of the trains will be restored in stages, particularly, first will be launched one line and then another.

Presently, the train in the Tumen-Baku route is in the Makhachkala station and the train in the Baku-Rostov route is in Darband. The train in the Baku-Makhachkala route also is expected to reach the Darband station soon.

He said the train in the Baku-Tumen direction that must leave Baku at 17:00 today, will be send in accordance to the schedule.
