The clashes between opposition supporters and security forces are continuing in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The riots began on Wednesday after the opposition came together at the local administration building of the Talas city. Hundreds of people came together, demanding the resignation of the governor of Talas oblast Beishenbek Bolotbekova.

Ten protesters were killed and about hundred were wounded in the clashes, Russian media outlets reported.

The state of emergency was declared in Kyrgyzstan. The decree on this in connection with the riots was signed today by Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. In some regions, the opposition supporters seized the building of state administration and police.

Today the protesters took hostage in Talas the first vice prime minister of Kyrgyzstan Akilbek Japarov, Kyrgyz Kabar agency reported.

According to the embassy, about 20,000 Azerbaijanis reside in Kyrgyzstan.
