Days of Azerbaijani Culture held in Estonian kindergarten

12 April 2010 [17:33] - TODAY.AZ
On April 9, children in the Vormsi kindergarten in Estonia got familiar with the culture of Azerbaijan for the first time. This project can be called a pilot since earlier days of Azerbaijani culture were held only in the schools.

The teacher of the Vormsi kindergarten and head of the Azerbaijani Sunday School Senem Aliyeva initiated the project. The day of the Azerbaijani culture in the kindergarteners brought together both children and their parents. Ambassador of Turkey in Estonia Ayshenur Alpaslan and Chairman of the House of the Azerbaijani Culture Niyazi Hajiyev were among the honored guests.

The children recited poems in Estonian and Azerbaijani languages, danced, and showed a puppet play based on the fairy tale "The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids", the story is well known in the folklore of different peoples.

Rada Zeynalova, whose grandson goes to kindergarten, said holidays aimed at preserving their culture are held not often. Therefore, despite the fact that the festival lasted only half an hour, she really liked the event.

Vormsi kindergarten is attended by children of different nationalities - Estonian, Russian and Azerbaijani. Educational process is carried out in Estonian.
