Azerbaijani education minister meets Gambian FM

Azerbaijan's Education Minister Misir Mardanov met Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Relations and Gambians Abroad Ousman Jammeh.

Mardanov informed the Gambian minister of education reforms in Azerbaijan. He stressed the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in developing the country`s education, adding “this policy is today being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev”.

“More than 2000 schools have built in the country at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation,” said the Minister.

Mardanov said Azerbaijan joined the Bologna process.

“Today over 10,000 Azerbaijanis are studying abroad, while Azerbaijan is home to nearly 7,000 foreign students.”

Jammeh said Gambia placed “a particular emphasis” on developing educational cooperation with Azerbaijan.

He said Gambians were “keen to continue their education in Azerbaijan”.
