Azerbaijani population numbers as of April 1, 2010 revealed

The population of Azerbaijan increased from the beginning of the year by 0,3%. It reached 9.022 million people on April 1.

According to the chairman of Goskomstat Arif Valiyev, 49% of the population were male, 51% - women.

53,5% of newborns were boys, 46.5% - girls. 346 of the newborns were twins, and 12 - triplets. Valiyev also said that the average age of longevity in Azerbaijan is 73.5 years.
