Azerbaijani emergency ministry issues formal statement in connection with fire on Baku market

The Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry issued a formal statement in connection with a fire on the '8th kilometer' market in Baku.

None were injured or died as a result of the incident, the ministry reported.

The ministry's crisis management department's '112' call service received information about the fire in one of the shopping centers in the territory of Nizami district of Baku from a citizen at 09:09, the ministry reported.

The Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry's Firefighter Service's rescuers and fire engines were immediately involved in operations to extinguish the fire. The relevant authorities were informed about the incident. The fire was extinguished at 10:29. Reportedly, the fire covered the 1,000-1,200 square meters of land.
