Azerbaijani President visited Salyan and Bilasuvar regions - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated a newly-built border check point in Bilasuvar. He cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the facility, and then toured it.

Chairman of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev told the President that the total area of the border check point was 40 hectares. The facility employs 50 people. Some 200 cars and 1200 travelers will be inspected at the check point on a daily basis.

The President watched a training of cynologists here. Ilham Aliyev's visit to Bilasuvar region has ended.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated a cannery and “Natural Green Land” agricultural facility of Azersun Holding.

The construction of the facilities was funded by the National Fund for Support of Entrepreneurship and Azersun Holding. The Natural Green Land facility employs 250 people, while the cannery has a 600-strong workforce.

The cannery features Turkish-, German- and Italian-made equipment. The President toured the facilities.

President of “Azerenergy” joint-stock company Etibar Pirverdiyev said construction of the 220-kv “Salyan” substation, 330 and 220-kv power transmission lines began in August 2006.

President Ilham Aliyev launched a station.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated a cold-storage warehouse complex in Salyan.

The complex will employ 150 people on permanent basis and 300 seasonal workers.
The Head of State also met the public of Salyan region.

President Ilham Aliyev told of important projects being carried out in the country including Salyan.

On behalf of Salyan public and business community, Hasiran Usubov thanked the Head of State for his care and attention.

As part of his visit to Salyan region, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated today the 22km section of the Alat-Astara-Iran border highway.

President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing opening of the highway.
Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov briefed the Head of State on the highway`s technical and economic parameters.

During his conversation with constructors, the President spoke of the Alat-Astara-Iran highway`s role in development of the region.
