How many Azerbaijani WWII veterans currently live in Baku?

Rest in Peace those, who bravely fought for justice, freedom and life.
"With each year the number of those who fought in WWII is getting lower and lower", said the chairman of the Azerbaijani Veterans Council, Mirzadjan Mamedov.

"Most of the veterans are well over 80 years of age. Today, sadly there are no Azerbaijani veterans left alive, who fought in the war", said Mamedov.

He added, that currently there are over 8700 WWII veterans living in Azerbaijan. 5 years ago, the number was close to 20 000.
