Names of refugees and internally displaced people will be included in the electoral lists to ensure thir electoral rights, the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission chairman said.
"At present, the number of election lists is being specified. We are monitoring all 125 constituencies. Results are being analyzed, and we will discuss them. Names of refugees and internally displaced people were not included in the voter lists in the municipal elections. But they will be included in the list during the parliamentary elections," the CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov said.
The parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan in early November.
There are over one million refugees and internally displaced people in Azerbaijan. It was impossible to include their names in voter lists during previous elections. Panahov said that instructions are being prepared for the parliamentary elections. The work over legal documents is conducted.
Regarding with the use of electronic voting in the parliamentary elections, Panahov said that operations are held in this sphere. But the use of electronic voting in the parliamentary elections is not expected. Electronic voting is used in some European countries. Azerbaijani Central Election Commission examines the European experience to use electronic voting.
