Azerbaijan hosts scientific-practical conference on "Role of women on front and rear during WW II"

"Azerbaijani women worked for a happy future of our people on the front and rear during the WW II," Head of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Hijran Huseynova said at the scientific-practical conference on 'Role of women on front and rear during the WW II'.

"During the war, more than 50% of industry workers and 70 percent of households were women. The country and President Ilham Aliyev appreciated the merits of the WWII participants. It is no coincidence that recently the president signed a decree granting veterans a one-time financial aid," Huseynova said.

Board Member of the Council of Veterans, Major-General Bahadur Huseynov shared his military memories with participants of the event. Azerbaijani MP Hadi Rajabli noted that the dedication of Azerbaijani women in wartime is proud of the people.

The journalists who wrote articles and essays on women's role in winning victory in the Great Patriotic War were awarded at the end of the event.
