Emergency situation announced in Azerbaijan's Neftchala region

More than 200 homes flooded, two houses collapsed and 27 houses are in an emergency situation as the Kura river overflew its banks. The residents are being evacuated.

The water level in the river exceeds the norm by 2.5 meters. Chairman of the Neftchala emergencies commission Dilaver Aliyev said 50 kinds of equipment have been involved to build the dambs. As many as 100 electric and 20 diesel pumps have been put into work and a daily duty has been set. The water level in Kura rose another 2 centimeters.
