Azerbaijani national injured in Derbent bomb attack - UPDATE

Azerbaijani national has been injured in an explosion at the Derbent railroad terminal in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Dagestan.
The Azerbaijani national injured in the Derbent explosion has been identified. He is Fikrat Mammadov, 49, resident of country’s Khachmaz region, the Interior Ministry of Dagestan said.

Mammadov has hurt his knee. His condition is assessed as satisfactory. He is hospitalized in the Derbent hospital, a duty officer said.

Three policemen and five civilians have been injured in an explosion in the town of Derbent. An injured woman died in the hospital, law enforcement source in Dagestan said.

According to the source, the blast occurred at 20.55 on the platform of the railway station at the time of arrival of electric train from Samur to Derbent. The device was planted in a garbage bin at the entrance to the waiting room.

“Three police officers and also five local civilians have been hospitalized,” the source added.

One of the local civilians died in the hospital. The source said the bomb was packed with bolts and nuts to increase its destructive force.
