Azerbaijani Health Ministry, Vishnevskaya-Rostropovich Foundation sign cooperation agreement

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health and Vishnevskaya-Rostropovich Foundation have signed an agreement on expansion of cooperation for 2010-2012 joint projects on diagnostic of pregnant women against hepatitis B and HIV and prophylactic of newborns against hepatitis B and fight against helminthes in schoolchildren.

The agreement was signed by Azerbaijani Minister of Health Ogtay Shiraliyev and president of Vishnevskaya-Rostropovich Foundation Yelena Rostropovich. Prior to the signing ceremony, the minister highlighted the Azerbaijani President's role in improving healthcare in the country.

“Improving healthcare in Azerbaijan is among key priorities of President Ilham Aliyev. A large number of medical facilities has been built across the country under relevant state programs.”

Shiraliyev praised the Vishnevskaya-Rostropovich Foundation's projects in Azerbaijan. Rostropovich expressed the foundation's readiness to support health programs in Azerbaijan.
