“Recently, an increase is observed in the number of rabies cases in animals in Azerbaijan”, Chief of the State Veterinary Service under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry Siyala Rustamova told media.

To her, such cases are observed mainly in flooded areas of Azerbaijan. Rustamova said that State Veterinary Service had appealed to Food and Agriculture Organization of UN for taking vaccination measures due to it. FAO will send to Azerbaijan vaccines against rabies within one month.
Rustamova also added that up to this day, over 250 cattle and 24 000 bird corpses had been dezymotized and burnt by the officials of the STS in special places.
