Ecologist: Citizens need to be educated about dangers of swimming in polluted Absheron beaches

Population should be informed of health dangers of swimming in polluted Absheron Peninsula beaches to prevent attempts to swim in these beaches, chairman of the 'Green Movement' ecological organization Farid Huseynov said.
"In addition to the measures taken to prevent attempts to swim in polluted beaches, people must be told about what health effects they may cause," Huseynov added.

The monitoring on waters of the Absheron coast revealed continued intensive pollution of seawater at Shikh beach of Sabail District and Sahil beach of Garadagh District of Baku.

Republican Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology has appealed to the Baku Police Department with a request to take appropriate measures to prevent attempts to swim in polluted beaches of Absheron and law enforcement officers ensure that no one swims in seawater.
