Azerbaijani MPs attend international conference in Romania - PHOTOS

Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan-based Ziya Bunyadov Oriental Studies Institute, Romania-based Center for Turkic and Central Asia Studies and Azerbaijani embassy in Romania organized an international conference entitled “Dialogue between East and West” in Kluj-Napoka city of Romania on June 17-18.
Azerbaijani MP and Director of the Oriental Studies Institute Govhar Bakhshaliyeva , Azerbaijani MPs Gultakin Hajiyeva, Fazil Mustafa as well as scholars, researchers, politicians and students from a number of countries attended the conference.

As part of the conference, the Center for Turkic and Central Asia Studies and Ziya Bunyadov Oriental Studies Institute signed a memorandum on cooperation. It was noted, that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has decreed to render financial assistance to the Center for Turkic and Central Asia Studies.

The conference included sessions “Historical lesson from East-West relations”, “Opportunities and challenges for East-west dialogue”, “Participation of women politicians and NGOs in a new political context” and “Role of scholars in a dialogue between civilizations.” It was decided to hold next conference in Baku in May 2011.
