The Azerbaijani parliament's extraordinary meeting held June 22 adopted a law on amendments and changes to the country's law "On the rules of traffic."
Parliamentary Legal Policy and State Building Committee Head Ali Huseynov provided extend information about the bill to the MPs.

"Under the amendments, speed is limited to 20 km/h (earlier it was 60 km/h) in residential areas and courtyards," Huseynov said.

Huseynov said, that under the bill drivers talking on mobile phone while driving will be fined for 50 AZN. Driver violating the law on non-working days will pay the fine set by the authorized employee of road inspection. Under the changes, which include age restrictions on the right to drive vehicles, a person under 14 doesnt have the right to ride bicycles on the roads.

Only persons aged at least 16 may drive mopeds, bicycles, equipped with outboard motors, and vehicles in category "A1". The right to drive in categories "A", "B" and "C" will have individuals who are at least 18 years of age, the category "BE" - at least 19 years.

And, also, car is not permitted to pass onto the left side of the road lane, if the right one is empty. This provision is applied to roads outside the settlements.
