Azerbaijan State NGO Support Fund to raise budget

The budget of the State NGO Support Fund under the Azerbaijani President will be increased to 10 million manat in 2011, Fund Head, MP Azay Guliyev told journalists today.

"We applied to the Finance Ministry to increase the funding. Today we have numerous and interesting ideas and initiatives. Unfortunately, we can not fund them," Guliyev said.

He said the more importantly that the process of state support for NGOs started.

"Support for public projects without regard to political views and belonging to the opposition or the authorities is an important event," Guliyev pointed out.
