Istanbul-Nakhchivan-Istanbul flight launched

Speaking to the ceremony, first deputy chair of the Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly Azar Zeynalov praised the Azerbaijan-Turkey relations.

“Thanks to services of the two leaders of the Turkic world – Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Heydar Aliyev – the Azerbaijan-Turkey relations have reached today`s high level.”

Zeynalov stressed: “This policy is being successfully continued by the presidents of the two countries. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev strengthens Azerbaijan-Turkey ties on the basis of Heydar Aliyev`s ‘We are one nation, two states’ saying. Reciprocal visits by heads of states and governments have been contributing to strengthening friendship between the two states.”
He added “the launch of Istanbul-Nakhchivan-Istanbul flight is a vivid evidence of high-level bilateral relations between our countries.”

Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic praised the launch of the flight, calling it “a first air bridge between Turkey and Nakhchivan”. “This bridge will also link Nakhchivan with other countries.”

The envoy praised chairman of the Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov`s role in “making the launch of the flight possible”.

Kilic also hailed Nakhchivan`s development - “Azerbaijan is of special significance for Turkey. We all well remember Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev`s speech at the opening of Umid bridge. He then said that the bridge will contribute to developing neighboring regions of Nakhchivan and Turkey. And today Nakhchivan has become a real paradise. This really makes Turkey happy.”

Head of regional flights at the “Anadolu Jet” company of the “Turk Hava Yollari” Sami Alan and deputy director general of “Turk Hava Yollari” Orhan Sivrikaya also made speeches at the event. The flights will be carried out on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
