ECRE welcomes Azeri government`s efforts to improve living standards of refugees and IDPs

Bjarte Vandvik, Secretary General of European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) sent a letter to Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of State Commission for Refugees and IDPs, praising efforts of the government to improve living standards of the people who lost their homes because of the Armenian aggression.

Vandvik welcomes the construction of new settlements by the government for refugees and IDPs. ECRE chief also thanked the official Baku for holding “tremendous” event marking the 20 June – World Refugee Day.

In his letter, Vandvik hailed the contribution of the Baku-based International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), a member of ECRE, to update the organization about the situation of refugees, exiles and asylum seekers in Azerbaijan.

The letter says IEPF “effectively” cooperates with ECRE to assist in solving problems of refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan.
