Azerbaijan to host international conference of European Ecology Ministers

A ministerial conference on environment and experts organized by the Azerbaijani government and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in preparation for the next session of the UN General Assembly on Biological Diversity will be held in Gabala region, Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry Spokesman Irada Ibrahimova told Trend.

The conference is expected to bring together ministers of environment of Europe, Director of UNEP Regional office for Europe Christophe Bouvier, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity Ahmed Djoghlaf and experts as well.

The purpose of the meeting is to contribute in a segment on the biological diversity of the UN General Assembly to be held in September in New York by European region.
