Today, the 64th session of the General Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union started in Baku, APA reports. Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Company - the only EBU member from Azerbaijan is holding the event.

Leaders of 75 television and radio organizations from 46 countries, as well-known famous public broadcasters from broadcasting unions in Europe, Asia, Africa and America are represented at the three-day session. Delivering speech at the opening session, President of the European Broadcasting Union Jean-Paul Philippe spoke about the significance of the event in Azerbaijan, thanked Public Television for the high level organization.
Then Director General of Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Ismayil Omerov made the speech. He wished success to the work of the 64th Baku session, expressed confidence that the issues scheduled for discussion at this session, as well as the decisions to be taken here, would open new opportunities for the future cooperation. Ismail Omarov said that the Public television has seriously impacted on formation of civil society.
